XDM can be intgrated with any browser to capture downloads. This feature also enables XDM to grab videos from websites like Youtube, Metacafe etc.This section describes how to enable this feature.

XDM will autometically enable this feature while running on Windows. NO
manual steps are required. However if autometic configuration failed for
some reaseon, you still can use this feature by manually configuring the
network. You can turn this feature on/off anytime using: XDM
Menu->Tools->Browser Integration-> Monitor All Browsers and click on the
Auto Configure Button.
NOTE: XDM will be able to takeover downloads from browsers while XDM is
running.
To configure manually, perform the following steps:
1. Goto Control Panel->Internet Option->Connections. If you are using
Dialup or VPN then select the connection from the list and click on the
Settings button. If you are using LAN then click on LAN settings.
2. Select use Auto configuration Script checkbox and type
http://localhost:9614/proxy.pac in the textbox.
3. Save the settings.
NOTE:
1. Manual configuration will work properly only if XDM runs on System
start-up. You can select this option in XDM Menu-> Browser Integration
Dialog.
2. To capture download from Opera, start XDM before starting Opera.
3. To capture download from Firefox, install the firefox extension from
Browser Integration Dialog.
YouTube videos can be easily downloaded with
XDM YouTube Downloader.
Goto XDM Menu-> File ->YouTube Downloader.
Downloading videos from Metacafe,Google Video,Daily Motion or any other website:
For Firefox/SeaMonkey users
Integrate XDM with Firefox.
Goto XDM Menu->Browser Integration and drag the icon into Firefox's
Window.This will install the XDM extension into Firefox/SeaMonkey.
Using Firefox/SeaMonkey visit the website (ie. Youtube,Metacafe etc.) and play the video in your Browser.
After the video is started playing Right click inside Firefox's Window and select 'Download FLV with XDM' from the popup menu.
The download link for the FLV video will be displayed in XDM Media Grabber.
Click on the download button.
NOTE:
For Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera,
Safari or Other Browsers.
Configure Network for Advanced Browser Integration.
Goto XDM Menu->Browser Integration-> Monitor All Browsers.
If you are using Windows click on the Auto Configure button.
If you are using Linux, Mac etc click on the Manual configuration
button and follow the steps or refer to Browser_Integration.txt
After the first step is done close the browser and start it
again to Make sure XDM starts running before the browser starts.
To make this easy XDM can be added to startup.
Using Browser visit the website (ie. Youtube, Metacafe etc.) and play the video in the Browser.
Goto XDM Menu->File->Grabber to download the video.
While resuming downloads sometimes you may encounter an error
'download session has been expired'.
This error occures when the download link is valid for a limited amount
of time.
To resume such downloads you will need to find a new download link that
will point to that same file which was being downloaded.
Goto XDM Menu->Refresh Link.
It will open the Refresh Link dialog.
If XDM knows the webpage from which the download was captured it will be displayed, otherwise you will have to find that webpage manually.
Open that webpage and find the download link which points to the
same file which was being downloaded (e.g. file size is same).
If it is a video you can find the link using XDM Media Grabber.
If it was a YouTube video, captured by XDM YouTube Downloader, then
repete the steps you performed last time to get the direct download
link.
Paste the new link in 'New Download Link' textbox and click OK.
Resume the download.
NOTE: If the new download link does not points to the same file which was being downloaded (filesize is not same) then XDM will throw an error or will result to a corrupted download.
